Privacy Policy — EN Rx Calculator

This Privacy Policy explains how EN Rx Calculator ("the App") handles your information. This policy applies to both the iOS and Android versions of the App. It describes the App's current data practices and how to contact us about privacy.

1. Overview & Compliance

EN Rx Calculator is a clinical nutrition calculator for healthcare workers. It estimates macronutrient and micronutrient content of commercial enteral nutrition formulas available in the Philippines. Calculations run on your device. The App does not create user accounts and does not require you to provide your name, email address, or other identity information to use the calculators.

The App does download product catalog data, product images, and (when you choose) third-party web pages. Those network requests are described below. We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs in the App.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following information can remain on your device. It is not uploaded to an account of ours:

  • Product catalog cache: JSON lists of formulas, micronutrients, rehydration items, company links, and other links. Stored with SharedPreferences so the App can show previously downloaded catalogs.
  • Image cache: product photos downloaded for display, stored in the App's on-device image cache.
  • Calculator inputs and results: values you type (for example scoops or kcal) and the resulting nutrient figures stay in memory while that screen is open. They are not saved to SharedPreferences and are not sent to our servers.

You can remove this on-device data by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

3. Cloud Backup, Sync, and Data Encryption in Transit

The App is not a cloud-sync or backup product. There is no user cloud account.

To refresh catalogs, the App sends an HTTPS GET request to a Google Apps Script web app hosted by Google. The request includes only catalog parameters (tab number and row range). It does not include your name, email, calculator inputs, or a user identifier we assign.

Those HTTPS connections use TLS in transit. When a request is made, the host (Google) necessarily receives standard technical data such as your IP address, date and time, and user-agent string. We use the response only to display and cache the public product catalog. We do not operate a separate user database for this traffic.

Product images are loaded over HTTPS from the image addresses included in that catalog. The image host likewise receives standard technical data for the download. Copies may be stored in the on-device image cache described above.

4. In-App Browser / WebView

If you open a store, company, or other link inside the App, or the in-app Privacy Policy page, the App loads that address in an in-app WebView with JavaScript enabled. Those pages are not operated by us (except this Privacy Policy, which is hosted on Blogger). The destination site may set cookies, run its own scripts, and collect information under that site's privacy policy. We do not control that collection.

You can leave a WebView with the App's back control. We do not use the WebView to inject our own tracking pixels.

5. Clipboard

If you tap a calculated nutrient row, the App writes that result text to the device clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. The App does not read the clipboard.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses these third parties in the ways described:

  • Google LLC (Google Apps Script): hosts the catalog web app the App calls to download formula and link lists. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google LLC (Blogger): hosts this Privacy Policy page. Opening it in the App uses a WebView. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Catalog image hosts: servers that store the product image URLs listed in the catalog. Those hosts receive the image request when the App displays a photo.
  • Websites you open in the WebView: store, company, and other URLs supplied in the catalog. Each site's own privacy policy applies.
  • Your email app: if you tap Contact Us, Feedback, or similar, the App opens a mailto link to enrxcalculator2022@gmail.com. Whatever you choose to send is handled by your email provider and then received in our inbox.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share calculator inputs with third parties.

Data leaves the device in these cases:

  • Catalog and image downloads: technical request data goes to Google Apps Script and to the image host, as described above, so the App can show products and photos.
  • WebView: if you open a link, your device communicates with that website. That is user-initiated.
  • Email: if you contact us, you share whatever you put in the message with us (and with your email provider).
  • Legal: we may disclose information we hold if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the App.

8. Data Retention

On your device: catalog JSON and cached images remain until you refresh the catalog (which replaces the stored JSON), clear App storage, or uninstall the App. Calculator inputs are discarded when you leave the calculator screen.

Emails you send us: we keep them to read and respond to your question, feedback, or privacy request, and then as long as needed for that correspondence or as required by law.

Catalog hosting: we keep the public product catalog that the App downloads. That catalog is not your personal data. We do not keep a user profile tied to catalog downloads.

9. Data Deletion Policy

The App does not offer user accounts, so there is no in-app account-deletion button. You can still request deletion of personal data we hold, and you can delete on-device App data yourself.

How to submit a data deletion request

Email us at enrxcalculator2022@gmail.com with the subject line Data deletion request.

In the message, include:

  1. the email address you used to contact us, if any;
  2. a statement that you want your personal data deleted; and
  3. enough detail for us to find your emails (for example approximate dates or the feedback topic).

After we verify the request, we will delete personal data we hold that is reasonably linked to it, including emails and attachments you sent us, unless we must retain a limited record because the law requires it (for example to show we handled the request).

What this request covers, and what it does not

  • Deleted on request: personal data in our email inbox that came from you (messages, your email address, and any personal details you included).
  • Not stored by us as user data: calculator inputs are not sent to us. Catalog lists are public product information, not your personal file.
  • On-device data you can delete without emailing us: uninstall EN Rx Calculator, or use your device settings to clear the App's storage. That removes the local catalog cache and image cache.
  • Third-party sites and infrastructure: we cannot delete logs or accounts held only by Google, an image host, or a website you opened in the WebView. Use that party's own deletion or privacy tools for data they hold independently.

There is a deletion process for personal data we hold (email us as described above). There is no account to close because the App does not create accounts.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for clinicians and healthcare workers who prescribe or review enteral nutrition. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email enrxcalculator2022@gmail.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or applicable law changes. The current version will be posted at this public policy URL with a revised effective date. For material changes, we will provide notice in the App or by another appropriate method when reasonably practicable.
