Privacy Policy — Hadith Tagalog

This Privacy Policy explains how Hadith Tagalog ("the App"), published by JSD Applications, handles information when you use the App on iOS and Android. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about our practices.

1. Overview

Hadith Tagalog is a free app for reading and studying authentic hadith with Tagalog translations. Core features are available at no cost. The App may offer optional voluntary one-time in-app tips; tips do not unlock features or digital goods.

The App does not require you to create an account. Most information stays on your device. The App may connect to the internet to load hadith content, display web pages, process optional tips, and perform limited network requests described in this policy.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Hadith Tagalog stores the following data locally on your device using on-device storage (SharedPreferences):

  • Bookmarks — which hadith entries you have marked as bookmarked.
  • Cached hadith content — a local copy of hadith list data after it is downloaded, so the App can work offline after the first successful load.
  • Tip prompt preferences — whether the optional support prompt has been shown, how many reading or copy actions have occurred since the last prompt, and when the current prompt cycle started. This is used only to decide when to show the voluntary tip dialog.

This data remains on your device and is not uploaded to servers operated by JSD Applications.

3. Account and Login Data

Hadith Tagalog does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide personal registration details. The App works without user registration.

4. Files, Documents, or User Content

The App does not let you upload files or create server-hosted user content. You may bookmark hadith entries and copy hadith text or footnotes to your device clipboard for your own use. Bookmark data is stored only on your device.

5. Cloud Backup, Sync, and Server Storage

JSD Applications does not operate a cloud account, backup, or sync service for your bookmarks or app settings.

When you first open the App or refresh content, the App may download hadith list data from a Google Apps Script endpoint hosted on Google infrastructure. These requests include technical information normally sent with web requests (such as your IP address and device network details) but do not include your name, email, or account information because the App has no account system.

6. In-App Browser and WebView

The App uses an in-app WebView to display selected web pages, including:

  • This Privacy Policy and other informational pages linked from the App menu.
  • Source links associated with individual hadith entries, when available.

When you open a page in the in-app browser, the website you visit may collect information according to its own privacy practices. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party website you open from the App.

The App may also open external apps or services through your device, such as your email app, Facebook Messenger, or the App Store, when you choose contact or developer links from the menu.

7. Purchases and Optional Tips

Hadith Tagalog offers optional voluntary one-time in-app tips. These are consumable purchases and do not unlock features, subscriptions, or digital goods. Tip product identifiers include: hadith.tagalog.tip.small, hadith.tagalog.tip.medium, hadith.tagalog.tip.large, and hadith.tagalog.tip.extra. Prices are shown in the store before you confirm a purchase.

iOS (Apple App Store): Tips are processed by Apple. We do not directly collect or store your payment card or Apple ID payment details. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by JSD Applications. Android (Google Play): Tips are processed by Google. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. Refund requests for Google Play purchases are handled by Google, not by JSD Applications. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Play Terms of Service.

The App does not offer auto-renewing subscriptions.

8. Analytics, Crash Reports, and Diagnostics

Hadith Tagalog does not include third-party analytics, advertising measurement, or crash-reporting SDKs such as Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.

9. Advertising and Tracking

Hadith Tagalog does not display ads and does not use advertising tracking technologies. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS.

10. Permissions

Hadith Tagalog may request or use the following device capabilities:

  • Internet access — to download hadith content, check network connectivity, display web pages, and perform limited network requests described in this policy.
  • In-app billing (Android) — to process optional voluntary tips through Google Play.
  • In-app purchases (iOS) — to process optional voluntary tips through the App Store.

The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, or device location through system permissions.

11. Clipboard

When you choose to copy hadith text, footnotes, or formatted copy content, the App writes that text to your device clipboard so you can paste it into another app. The App does not read clipboard content from other apps.

12. Approximate Location Request

On some app launches, the App may send a network request to a third-party IP geolocation service (ipwho.is) to learn the approximate country and region associated with your internet connection. This is used only to decide whether to skip showing the optional tip prompt in certain regions. We do not use this for advertising or account profiling, and we do not store a persistent location profile on our own servers.

Because this request uses your IP address, standard network and server logs from the third-party provider may apply. See ipwho.is for its practices.

13. Third-Party Services

Hadith Tagalog relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google — Google Apps Script endpoint used to provide hadith list data.
  • ipwho.is — approximate IP-based country and region lookup for optional tip prompt logic.
  • Apple App Store — optional tip purchases on iOS.
  • Google Play — optional tip purchases on Android.

External websites opened from the App, including hadith source links, are operated by third parties and are not controlled by JSD Applications.

14. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not operate a user account database.

Information may be processed by Apple, Google, network providers, or other third-party services only as needed to provide store purchases, deliver hadith content, display web pages, or perform the limited network requests described in this policy. We do not share bookmarks, clipboard contents, or locally stored app preferences with JSD Applications servers because we do not operate such servers for that data.

15. Data Retention

Locally stored data such as bookmarks, cached hadith content, and tip prompt settings remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App. We do not retain copies of that on-device information on our own servers.

16. Data Deletion

You can remove locally stored App data by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling Hadith Tagalog from your device. Uninstalling the App removes bookmarks, cached content, and tip prompt settings stored by the App on that device.

Purchases processed by Apple or Google are subject to those platforms' records and refund policies.

17. Children's Privacy

Hadith Tagalog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at https://jsdapplications.blogspot.com/2022/12/hadith-tagalog-privacy-policy.html and/or within the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
