Vaults — Terms of Use (Android)
Vaults — Terms of Use (Android)
Effective date: May 17, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Vaults Android application (“Vaults,” “the app,” or “we”). By downloading, installing, or using Vaults from Google Play, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information in connection with the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Vaults, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by Google Play’s terms and policies. If you use Vaults on behalf of another person, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
2. App Description
Vaults is a password manager that helps you store and organize login details in vaults on your device. The app is designed to keep your passwords locally on your device. Core features include creating vaults and entries, protecting vaults with a PIN, unlocking the app with biometric authentication (where supported on your device), generating passwords, exporting and importing data, and creating local backup files. An optional paid subscription adds Google Drive backup and restore.
Vaults on Android is published under the package name jsd.vaults.paid on Google Play.
3. Eligibility
You must be old enough to use the app under the laws of your country and to agree to a binding contract. If you are under the age required in your region, you may use Vaults only with permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
4. Free and Premium Features
Free features (no subscription required) include, among others:
- Creating and managing vaults and password entries without vault or entry limits shown in the app
- Vault PIN protection and app unlock with biometric authentication (fingerprint or face unlock, where available on your device)
- Password generator
- Local backup and restore using app backup files (including optional PIN encryption for backups)
- Import and export using supported file formats such as .vault and .csv
- App lock when the app goes to the background (where enabled in settings)
- Factory reset to erase app data on your device
Cloud Backup subscription (paid) unlocks:
- Backing up your vault data to Google Drive
- Restoring your vault data from Google Drive
- Signing in with a Google account in the app for those cloud backup features
In the app, this subscription is presented as Cloud Backup and is tied to the Vaults Pro entitlement. Local backup and restore on your device remain available without a subscription.
5. Subscriptions and Purchases
Vaults offers auto-renewable subscriptions processed through Google Play. Subscription options shown in the app include:
- Cloud Backup Monthly
- Cloud Backup Yearly
Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The price, billing period, and any applicable taxes are shown on the Google Play purchase screen before you confirm.
Vaults uses RevenueCat to help deliver and validate subscriptions. Purchase handling is ultimately provided by Google, not by us directly.
Vaults does not display third-party advertising in the app.
6. Auto-Renewal
Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, your subscription renews automatically for the same plan length (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price shown by Google Play.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled according to Google Play’s subscription rules. You may also see this notice in the app: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can manage or cancel them in Google Play settings.
7. Cancellation
You can cancel or manage your subscription in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions for app package jsd.vaults.paid.
You can also open subscription management from Vaults Settings, which may direct you to Google Play subscription settings.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through Google Play to stop future charges.
After cancellation, you keep access to Cloud Backup features until the end of the paid period already in progress, unless Google Play or your account status says otherwise.
8. Restore Purchases
If you reinstall Vaults or use a new Android device, tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen or in Settings. Restore checks your Google Play purchase history through our subscription service and reactivates Cloud Backup access when an active subscription is found.
Restore requires a network connection and the same Google Play account used for the original purchase. If no active subscription is found, Cloud Backup features remain unavailable until you subscribe again.
9. Trials and Introductory Offers
From time to time, Google Play may offer a free trial or introductory price for a subscription. If an offer is available, its length, price after the offer, and renewal terms are shown on the Google Play purchase screen before you confirm. When a trial or introductory period ends, the subscription renews at the regular price unless you cancel beforehand in Google Play.
Vaults does not guarantee that a trial or introductory offer is available in every country or at all times.
10. Refunds
All subscription payments and refunds are handled by Google under Google Play’s policies. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, use Google Play’s refund request options for the purchase.
11. User Data and Local Storage
Your vault entries and related data are stored on your device in the app’s local database. You are responsible for:
- Choosing and remembering your vault PINs and any backup encryption PINs
- Keeping your device secure (screen lock, biometrics, OS updates)
- Maintaining your own local backup files if you use that feature
We do not operate a Vaults login account or cloud database for your passwords. Losing your PIN, deleting app data, or performing a factory reset without a backup may result in permanent loss of access to your stored entries.
12. Cloud Backup (Google Drive)
Cloud Backup uses your Google account and Google Drive to store backup files in a folder created for the app. To use this feature you must sign in with Google and grant the app permission to access Google Drive as requested in the sign-in flow.
Google Drive backups are subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy. We do not control Google’s services. You are responsible for the Google account you use and for any storage or access limits Google applies.
Cloud Backup requires an active Cloud Backup subscription. Without it, Google Drive backup and restore options in the app are not available.
13. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use Vaults only for lawful personal purposes
- Provide accurate information you choose to store in the app
- Keep your device, PINs, and backup files secure
- Review subscription and renewal details on Google Play before purchasing
- Comply with Google Play rules that apply to your use of the app
14. Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Use Vaults to break the law or infringe others’ rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or misuse the app except where the law allows
- Interfere with the app, subscription systems, or related services
- Use the app to store or share content you do not have the right to hold
- Circumvent subscription or security features
15. Third-Party Services and Content
Vaults relies on third-party services, including:
- Google Play — app distribution and subscription billing
- RevenueCat — subscription status and purchase restore
- Google Sign-In and Google Drive — optional cloud backup (subscription required)
Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Your use of them is also governed by their rules. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or acts of third-party providers.
16. No Guarantee / Availability
Vaults is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we aim for reliable performance, we do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss in all situations.
Vaults helps you organize passwords locally and optionally back them up to Google Drive. It is not a guarantee against device failure, forgotten PINs, account issues, or security incidents. You are solely responsible for your security choices and backups.
17. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update Vaults or these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using Vaults and cancel any active subscription in Google Play.
18. Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy describes what information the app and related services may collect or process (for example, when you use Google Sign-In or subscription features) and how that information is used. Please read it carefully.
19. Google Play Terms
If you downloaded Vaults from Google Play, the following also apply:
- These Terms are between you and the developer. Google is not responsible for Vaults or its content.
- Subscription billing, cancellation, and refunds are governed by Google Play’s Terms of Service and Google Play’s refund policies.
- You must manage and cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account. Uninstalling the app does not end your subscription.
- Google may display the subscription price, billing period, and renewal terms before you complete a purchase.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and Google Play’s terms regarding subscription billing, cancellation, or refunds, Google Play’s terms control for those matters.
