Vaults Terms of Use

Effective date: May 15, 2026

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using Vaults. By downloading, opening, or using Vaults, you agree to these Terms.

Please also read the Privacy Policy, which explains how privacy and data are handled.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Vaults, you agree to follow these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. App Description

Vaults is an offline password and notes app. It helps you store login details, private notes, websites, usernames, emails, passwords, and related information on your device.

Vaults also includes tools such as local backup and restore, CSV export, password generation, app lock options, PIN access, and biometric authentication where supported by your device.

3. Eligibility

You may use Vaults only if you are allowed to use apps and subscriptions under the rules of your app store, device platform, and local laws.

You are responsible for deciding whether Vaults is suitable for your own use.

4. Free and Premium Features

Vaults includes local features without requiring a Backup Plus subscription. These may include:

  • Offline password and note storage
  • Unlimited vaults and entries
  • Local backup and restore
  • Password generator
  • CSV export
  • PIN, fingerprint, or Face ID app protection where supported

Backup Plus is a paid subscription for Google Drive backup and restore. The app already includes local backup and restore without Backup Plus.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

Vaults offers Backup Plus Monthly and Backup Plus Yearly subscriptions on supported platforms.

Backup Plus provides Google Drive backup and restore service for your Vaults data. Purchase availability, prices, billing periods, taxes, and final payment details are shown on the App Store or Google Play purchase screen before you confirm.

Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Vaults may use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status and restore purchases.

6. Auto-Renewal

Backup Plus subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Your app store account will be charged according to the billing period shown when you subscribe. Renewal terms, prices, taxes, and billing details are controlled by the App Store or Google Play.

7. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings.

Deleting Vaults does not cancel your subscription.

If you cancel, Backup Plus access may continue until the end of the current paid period, depending on your app store rules.

8. Restore Purchases

Vaults includes a Restore Purchases option. Use it if you reinstall the app, switch devices, or need to restore an active Backup Plus subscription.

Restore Purchases checks the subscription linked to your app store account. It does not restore local vault data by itself.

9. Trials and Introductory Offers

If a trial or introductory offer is available, the details will be shown on the App Store or Google Play purchase screen before you confirm.

Trials and introductory offers are controlled by the app store and may vary by account, region, platform, or eligibility.

10. Refunds

Refunds are handled by the app store where the purchase was made.

For Apple purchases, refund requests are handled by Apple. For Google Play purchases, refund requests are handled by Google Play.

The developer does not directly process App Store or Google Play subscription refunds.

11. User Data and Local Storage

Vaults is designed to store your vault data locally on your device.

Your saved passwords, notes, sites, emails, usernames, and related vault data are your responsibility. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for keeping backup files safe.

Local backup files may be protected with a backup PIN. If you forget the backup PIN, the app may not be able to restore that encrypted backup.

12. Cloud Backup and Restore

Backup Plus allows you to back up and restore Vaults data using Google Drive.

Google Drive backup requires Google Sign-In and internet access. Vaults may create or use a folder named Vaults Backup in your Google Drive account and store backup files there.

Vaults does not guarantee that Google Drive, Google Sign-In, internet access, or backup files will always be available. You are responsible for confirming that backups are created successfully and for keeping copies of important data.

13. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Entering accurate information in the app
  • Keeping your device, PIN, biometrics, app store account, and Google account secure
  • Creating backups of important vault data
  • Testing that your backups can be restored when needed
  • Using exported CSV files carefully because they may contain sensitive information

14. Prohibited Use

You agree not to misuse Vaults. This includes:

  • Using the app for unlawful activity
  • Trying to bypass billing, subscriptions, or app store rules
  • Interfering with the app, its services, or third-party services
  • Reverse engineering or copying the app except where allowed by law
  • Using Vaults to store or share content you do not have the right to use

15. Third-Party Services and Content

Vaults may rely on third-party services and platform features, including Google Drive, Google Sign-In, RevenueCat, Apple App Store billing, Google Play billing, device biometric services, file sharing, and external links.

Third-party services are controlled by their own providers. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply.

Vaults may open websites or external apps when you choose to use links, email support, subscription management, Google Drive, or app store features.

16. No Guarantee and Availability

Vaults is provided as is. The app may change, stop working, be unavailable, or have errors.

No password manager, backup system, device, or cloud service can guarantee perfect security or permanent data availability.

You should keep independent backups of important information.

17. Changes to the App or Terms

Vaults may be updated, changed, or discontinued at any time.

These Terms may also be updated. If you continue using Vaults after the Terms change, you accept the updated Terms.

18. Privacy Policy

Your use of Vaults is also covered by the Privacy Policy. If a Privacy Policy URL is provided on the app store listing or developer page, please review it there.

19. Apple EULA and App Store Terms

If you download or use Vaults on iOS, your use of the app is also subject to Apple Media Services Terms and Apple’s standard End User License Agreement.

For iOS subscriptions, cancellation is managed through Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple.
